Year in REVIEW-Goodbye 2010!

2010 was a year of awakening and accomplishments. It always takes me longer to reflect and comment on events and happenings. I have always been a slow learner. Looking back on this year I feel that it really was a "Banner" year for me and my loved ones. A year of firsts, I can say. Here are a few of my firsts:
1st rainy day at Disneyland- Less crowds and we loved it!
1st time at the top of Mount Pinos- With the girls in the snow, couldn't be better.
1st time I have lost a beloved pet- Goodbye sweet Marilyn, we will always miss you!
1st time being a softball parent- Paige, I know why you love this game. NO LAPS! Proud of you!
1st time to use a real camera for my Flickr account- Thank you Linda! I still have a lot to learn.
1st time I actually put my foot down- This came early in the year and has held me strong since!
1st kitty and pure bred dog- Tink and Zack, welcome to our family. Grow well with our girls!
1st time watched a concert in the back-Only with you Steve! What a blast!
1st time Sydney placed in an I.M.- Who knew that she would be so fast? She pushes me! Proud of you!
1st time I ran in a wig, ran @ C.O.C. race series, & Marathon- Whew! I must really love 2 run!
1st extended date with my wife on a cruise- Carol, we NEED to do this again! Best time, I luv U!
1st time on a ride at the top of Stratosphere- Peer pressure from a teenager! Vegas+Dare=FUN!

This year I really learned a lot about myself and a little bit more about the world we live in. I claim to not have it all figured out, nor will I ever. We didn't take the big trips nor make the super big purchases. With the state of the economy it really made us come together as a family. This coming year will show its challenges. We know this. Being connected with the Santa Clarita Runners and the Knights of Columbus have shown me the power of being stronger than ever. Along with age comes grace, dignity and wisdom. I'm only just learning all this and plan to learn more what this life has to offer. I heard earlier this week that "pain is inevitable, but suffering is optional." So true. Try and deal with the pain we are dealt with but try not to let it make you suffer. That kills you.

Plan for 2011:

1. Play more games that my kids challenge me to play!
2. Carol+Cruise+Me!!!
3. Hawaii + Family!
4. Get the big fish at work (150+ units)!
5. Advanced training for my dogs.
6. Qualify for the Boston Marathon for 2012
7. Bike trip along the coast with friend(s).
8. Keep the calm state of mind.
9. Continue with the Coach's Oats, but less late night snacks.
10. More concerts to blog about!
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
